Education
PhD candidate, Environmental & Life Sciences, Trent University (since Jan. 2010)
MSc, Environmental & Life Sciences, Trent University (2009)
BSc, Environmental Science, Carleton University (2006)
Research
My research from 2006 to 2009 was focused on the genetic characterization of Canis populations in the Great Lakes region of Canada and the United States for the purpose of assessing gene flow among populations and hybridization between wolves and coyotes. Continuing research on the delineation of Canis populations aims to combine genetic and morphological data. My current PhD research focuses on the demographic response of eastern coyotes to human exploitation and the role of dispersal in maintaining hunted populations.
