Dolphin & Whale Biology/Conservation in Tropical Asia
Asia has some of the world's most populated countries that have heavily exploited marine resources and massive industrialisation along coastal regions. As a result, Asia is facing some of the worst marine conservation issues in the world. This course will introduce students to many of the main marine conservation issues using a highly visible group of organisms. Students will learn the kinds of information that are needed to assess and understand the impact of human activities on cetaceans (e.g., threats, taxonomy, distribution, population biology) and research methods to obtain such information.
DNA Forensic Camp
The Forensic Science Camp will introduce you to the fascinating world of Forensic Science. Learn what it really takes to process a crime scene, analyse evidence and use DNA technology to solve crime, plus experience campus life at a University. Throughout the week, campers will be able to interact with various members of the community currently working in the field of Forensic Science. This not only benefits our campers with first hand experience but gives them insight into possible post-secondary education and future career opportunities.
