Sample Submission

Tissue Sample Instructions:
The Natural Resources DNA Profiling and Forensic Centre receives various types of samples for DNA analysis. Samples range from known individuals from zoos to unknown samples from the field.

Furthermore, sample types submitted range from fish scales/fin clips, teeth, feathers, hair, blood and faeces. The NRDPFC has developed and optimized a number of DNA extraction protocols for these different tissue types. However, specific sample collection methods need to be followed for ideal DNA extraction results.
