My research focuses on eastern wolves (Canis lycaon), a species of special concern under the federal Species at Risk Act (SARA) and the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC). I use a variety of genetic approaches to assess the evolutionary responses of wolves to human influences and to develop a better understanding of the evolutionary origins, pack social structure, and hybridization of eastern wolves.
